Welcome to our junior tennis section
Starting from tots aged 3 years old, through to yellow ball, aged 11+ years, we have weekly squads for everyone. Mini tennis is separated into different ball colours that correlate to the age of the child. Details of the different levels can be found below, and individual lessons with our coaches are also available for those that want to supplement squads with one to one time as well.

-
Red Ball (up to 8 years)
This is the first stage of tennis where players from 4-8 years are learning to rally, serve and play points with a slow ball (sponge/red). It is played on a mini tennis court as is a gentle introduction to learning the movement and co-ordination skills needed for tennis.
-
Orange Ball (8-9 years)
The next stage of mini tennis is aimed at players of 8/9 years old. Players use an orange, low pressurised, tennis ball. Technical foundations continue to be developed, and players can start to work on the tactical element of the game on a 3/4 size court, with a lower net.
-
Green Ball (9-10 years)
The final stage of mini tennis is with a green ball that closer replicates the yellow ball. Players now play the game on a full-size court, with a full-height net and are completing the final stage of the transition to the full game of tennis.
-
Yellow Ball (11 + years)
Players are ready to play tennis on a full court, with the full pressurised tennis ball.
